SUBMITTED BY: Gallia, 21 Feb 97

The log begins as I (Gallia) arrive at the Lawn to wait for Laupilin.

Lawn
Here the stairway through the mallorns meets the top of a mighty hill. You stand in the middle of a great lawn filled with blue and yellow flowers. A sweet scent fills the air. In the middle of the lawn stands a great shimmering fountain which falls into a basin of silver. From the basin flows a white stream of water out into a small brook, which then trickles away down the hill. Further north stands a Mallorn tree of such magnificent height that it seems to reach even to the clouds. Lorlas smiles broadly. "But here she comes now..."

Erinstar says, "Ah, the beautiful bride. Mae Govannen, M'lady."

Erinstar is looking at me. Gallia blushes. "Mae govannen. I am glad that some could make it on such short notice."

Erinstar pulls back his cloak to reveal a suit of shining white and silver.

(Let's see what Erinstar is wearin! g!)

Before you is a tall, broad shouldered, well muscled elvish figure of about 6'10". He is clad in bright white tunic with silver trim around the cuffs of his sleeves and down the sides of his V shaped collar. He wears also a silver belt around his waist, containing a long-stemmed rose and a pouch of his belongings. His loose white breeches are tucked into pearl-colored, knee-high boots. A white cape with silver lining flows out behind him, clasped on his right shoulder by an emerald and crystal broach. Pinned on his left shoulder is his insignia for the rank of Knight-Bachelor in the Order of Lorien. Covering his hands are two white gloves with silver stars on the top. As you finally look up at his face, he smiles back at you. He has slightly angular features and long, light brown hair, help out of his eyes by a silver band with a white gem upon it. His eyes are the strangest, yet most enchanting part about him. They are stormy blue of color, and in constant turmoil. An occasional flas! h of silver flicks past like lighhh htning in a storm...

Lendalas is sitting off to the side of the lawn in the shade, partially hidden in the trees.

(Ok, what does the bride look like today?)

Gallia A wreath of golden Mallorn leaves adorns Gallia's head, drawing attention to the light highlites in her hair. More of the lovely leaves grace her hair as it flows loosley down to the middle of her back, held in place by some invisible trick of hairstyling. Her lavender-blue eyes seem to sparkle especially brightly today, and her cheeks are pink against her fair skin. A mithril necklace set with a dark red ruby lays against her chest above the round neckline of her simply cut yet elegant dress. As she moves, the cloth of her dress almost seems to change color, from white to silver to almost gold and light green. Her feet are not visible beneath her long skirt, though somehow the hem does not seem to drag upon the ground. A bright mithril ring adorns the forefinger of her right hand, sig! nifying her betrothal.

Galliaaa a looks around at her friends, and smiles. But she looks a little distracted and keeps glancing toward the stairs.

An elf-maid takes a break from her chores, and rests in the shade.

Laupilin grins as he nearly runs up the stairs.

Lorlas stands aside to let Laupilin through.

Erinstar motions to the drum, "Should I give 'er a bang or two?"

Gallia brightens as she sees Laupilin. "Mae govanen, love." She turns to Erinstar and nods.

Erinstar says, "Oh, nevermind. Looks like everyone found their way on their own."

Laupilin walks to Gallia, hugging her tightly. "Mae govannen, my dear..."

Kathalis walks slowly up the stairs...

Erinstar looks over the drum.

Gallia smiles at Erinstar while she hugs Laupilin. "Even if everyone is come, perhaps it would be nice to sound the drum anyway."

Laupilin looks to all the people. "I am so glad you all could make it..."

Erinstar grabs the stick and beats the drum repeatedly.

*Berumm berumm berumm* You hear a s! teady drumming from the top of thhh he City upon the lawn, announcing a gathering there.

Tarinalas comes up the stair.

Alenaldar comes up the stair.

Lorlas smiles and stands beneath the tree. Addressing Laupilin, "Wouldn't have missed it for the world."

Erinstar says, "Heh, nice drum."

Kathalis walks over and quielty takes a seat.

Laupilin beams. "This will be our finest day, my Gallia..." He kisses her softly.

Tarinalas comes running up the step and sighs in relief when it seems he's not too late.

Gallia smiles brightly at Laupilin, blushing slightly.

Laupilin says, "well, how should we begin?" He looks to Gallia, then around, chuckling. "Any ideas?"

Erinstar grins to Laupilin, "You are a lucky man. Make sure you treat this prize well."

Lorlas nods in agreement.

Gallia laughs gaily. "I believe it is I who have won a prize, mellyn."

Laupilin turns to Erinstar. "Don't I know it! believe me, nothing shall ever befall her while I can help it..."

Erinstar looks over the drum! .

Erinstar grabs the stick anddd d beats the drum repeatedly.

*Berumm berumm berumm* You hear a steady drumming from the top of the City upon the lawn, announcing a gathering there.

Erinstar glances around for the food tables, grinning mischieviosuly.

Aylandi comes up the stairs with three or four Aides trailing her. She turns to say something to them when she noticed the large amount of people on the Lawn. Her eyebrow rises, but she speaks again to the Aides, who scatter.

A bright green dragonfly dances over the fountain, its irridescent wings shimmering in the light.

Arehir comes up the stair.

Lorlas smiles and turns to Laupilin. "Get it started, Mellyn... I believe you have something to do here this evening."

Laupilin clears his throat. "Well, I am so glad all of you could arrive..."

Tarinalas looks over the dessert table, deciding which treat to try first.

The sun sinks in the sky and falls below the horizon. Nighttime takes over.

Laupilin looks to everyone. "On this! fine day, the beautiful lady Galll llia and I are going to wed. Although our parents could not attend, we hope that you all still hold this service in as high regard as usual..."

Gallia holds Laupilin's hand, and beams at all their friends.

Kathalis sits off to one side softly playing his flute.

Erinstar says, "Who's going to give the Lady away?"

Erinstar asks this to the person nearest him.

Laupilin says, "As is custom, anyone who believes there is a valid reason we should not be together may object to our union now...our year of betrothal has passed normally, without such objection, but now is the final time for anyone to speak."
Laupilin looks around to all.

Gallia looks around momentarily, and then back to her betrothed.

Aylandi moves quietly over to one side of the Lawn, and watches silently. There is a smile on her face, you think.

Arehir looks over the dessert table, deciding which treat to try first.

Laupilin +whispers to Gallia, "My dear, please pick someone to give you! away to me..."

Tarinalas leannn ns over to Erinstar, "Give? That's probably not the word I'd use in this situation..."

Laupilin turns to Tarin, and winks.

Erinstar shrugs as he looks back to Tarin, "Well, you know, do the oaths and give the gift and everything."

Laupilin smiles again, and moves over to Erinstar softly.

Lorlas leans back on the trunk of the tree.

Laupilin +whispers to Erinstar, "... ... ... ... you like to ... ... ring?"

Erinstar +whispers to Laupilin, "... ... ... ..."

Laupilin grins, and takes him over to an empty spot on the lawn, handing him something shiny, and motioning to him different things. "... ... ... i ... ... ... ... ... ..." He turns to look at Gallia, and smiles broadly.

Gallia clears her throat and after some consideration answers Laupilin's whisper to her clearly. "I give myself to thee freely, Laupilin. Because my parents are no longer residing here, I make this decision of my own will."

Laupilin says, "As you will, Gallia, I have no objection t! here...as long as you are mine, ttt that will suffice."

A bright green dragonfly dances over the fountain, its irridescent wings shimmering in the light.

Gallia blushes a bit brigher, and smiles at Laupilin as she slowly removes her mithril ring from her finger.

Erinstar sticks the ring in his pocket carefully.

Laupilin walks back over to Gallia, and also removes his own ring from his index finger.

Various elves of house Raavindonserke stand quietly by the dessert table.

Erinstar rolls his eyes at all his house members as the flock by the food.

Laupilin looks into Gallia's eyes, deeply. "My dear, I enter a union with you that will last beyond time...I ask you to take me, in everything I do."

Tarinalas wonders what is is about weddings that seems to draw everyone to the dessert table...

Gallia takes both of Laupilin's hands. "My love, I take you in everything you do, and enter a union which will last beyond time. I ask that you take me, as well, to be your mate for all time."

Laup! ilin kisses Gallia's hands in hisss s, and places his mithril ring into her palm. He motions to Erinstar, and slowly takes her left hand in his.

Gallia also places her mithril ring into Laupilin's hand.

Laupilin turns to Erinstar. "Have you the ring, sir?"

Erinstar reaches into his pocket for the ring and a frown suddenly creases his face. He takes his hand out and pats his pockets. There's nothing there. His eyes widen as he begins searching his other pockets. "Uh."

Laupilin blushes a deep red. "Erinstar?"

Laupilin looks at Gallia, then back to Erinstar.

Erinstar says, "Erm..."

A hush falls over the assmeblage...

Gallia giggles. "Laupilin, a ring is not what our love is based on, nor is it what our marriage will be founded upon. If we cannot find it, we will have another made soon."

Laupilin clears his throat, and smiles weakly. "Due to this accident, we have not the ring...but that is not our love, true, my love. I ask you to wear my mithril ring for the time being, as I will wear yo! urs." He slips Gallia's ring ontooo o one of his fingers.

Erinstar pulls the ring out of his boot suddenly, frowning. He hands it to Laupilin, grinning sheepishly. He mutters, "Wonder how it got in there...."

Laupilin turns again. "in that case, never mind..."

A hawk spirals lazily overhead.

Gallia takes a thin, gold ring out of a tiny pocket near her hip.

Laupilin gently takes the ring from Erinstar and slips it onto Gallia's hand. "Here you are, a symbol of my undying devotion to you..."

Kathalis sit off to the side quietly playing his flute...

Erinstar pulls out his own plain wooden flute and begins to play along with Kath quietly to hide his blushing face.

Laupilin takes Gallia's hand in his and kisses it tenderly.

Gallia likewise places the gold ring onto the forefinger of Laupilin's right hand. She whispers, but loud enough for the sharp ears of those present to hear. "A symbol of my unending love for you, my Laupilin."

Laupilin brushes Gallia's hair out of her face, look! ing into her eyes. "And with thattt t ring, I thee wed."

Gallia places the mithril ring back into her pocket, and takes a step closer to Laupilin. She can barely speak, but she manages to repeat, "I thee wed."

Laupilin pulls Gallia close, in a soft embrace, whispering in her ear.

Kathalis continues to play softly, watching.

Laupilin whispers, "I love you, forever."

Gallia whispers back, and then gives Laupilin a brief, but tender kiss.

Gallia whispers, "And I return that love, forever." to Laupilin.

Laupilin smiles, and turns back to the audience. "We ask all of you, and Varda, that we may live together happily forever, until we both pass into the west together, as one."

The music comes to a cresendo and the crowd cheers.

Gallia sheds a tear as she leans against Laupilin with her arm around his back.

An elf-maid takes a break from her chores, and rests in the shade.

Laupilin smiles to Gallia. "Then, we pronounce our union as one, Laupilin and Gallia."

Laupilin say! s, "So please, have some food, thhh here is wonderful music, thank you Kathalis, so enjoy yourselves..."

Gallia smiles brightly as more tears follow the first down her cheeks. "Now let us have a fitting celebration of this union."

Kathalis nods slightly and conintues to play..

Erinstar cheers!

Tarinalas cheers and steps forwards to congratulate the two happy elfsies!

Laupilin shakes Tarin's hand, before just hugging him outright. "Thank you all."

Gallia giggles and hardly waits for Laupilin to let go of Tarinalas before she, too, gives him a huge hug.

Elendir comes up the stair.

Laupilin walks around happily, hugging everyone who wants one.

Alenaldar beams at the couple, "Congrats!"

Laupilin says, "Thank you, Alenaldar!"

Erinstar watches Gallia hug Tarin and pouts, feeling left out.

An elf in a shimmering cloak walks in. He sees all of the people and a slight grimace is on his face. He nods to who appear to be the newly weds and then takes a seat on the fountain li! p, away from everyone else.

SSS Silgon comes up the stair.

Tarinalas grins at Erin, "Well you shoulda stepped forwards sooner!"

Gallia smiles at Alenaldar, and then makes her way nearer to Erinstar, giving him a big hug. "Thank you for coming, mellon."

Kathalis lowers his flute and walks over to Gallia, and says shortly "Congratulations, mellon..."

Laupilin hugs Erinstar. "Thank you, mellon. Especially for the ring-bearing."

Laupilin winks.

Silgon wanders up the steps, and seeing all the people, smiles, and walks to the group.

Elendir salutes to Silgon and then takes his seat on the far edge of the fountain.

Erinstar grins and hugs Gallia back, "I could never miss something like this."

Erinstar grins at Laupilin.

Tarinalas looks over the dessert table, deciding which treat to try first.

Silgon returns the salutes, and walks to Gallia, waiting his turn to speak to the bride.

Laupilin smiles, seeing Silgon. He walks over, and yes, gives him a hug too.

Alenald! ar is already at the dessert tablll le, trying everything.

Gallia rests her hand on Kathalis' shoulder, smiling but a bit sadly. "Thank you for playing for us Kathalis. It means much to me that you even came." She pulls him into a soft hug.

Tarinalas selects a slice of Lemon-Lime Pie from the table.

Lendalas stands from the shadows and watches the procedings.

Silgon gladly returns the unsought hug, and smiles warmly, "My thanks, Mellon." He laughs brightly.

Tarinalas takes his plate of pie far away from all the other hungry elves to enjoy.

Erinstar stuffs his flute back in his belt.

Kathalis hugs gallia back and...turns and quietly begins to leave.

Laupilin grins. "Kathalis..."

Laupilin runs after Kathalis. "Wait... I thank you also... and if you ever need to be cheered up, please come seek me..."

The small fountain in the middle of the Lawn burbles pleasently.

Kathalis nods to Laupilin, "You're welcome mellon."

Gallia makes her way over to the dessert table as wel! l.

Kathalis climbs down the sss steps.

Before Gallia reaches the dessert table, Laupilin pulls her into a lively dance.

Elendir looks over the dessert table, deciding which treat to try first.

Silgon wanders over to the fountain, and sits next to Elendir.

Elendir nods to Silgon.

Gallia eeps, and sets her dessert back on the table and begins to dance with her Laupilin.

Elendir +whispers to Silgon, "... govannen ..."

Laupilin says, "Gallia, do you really think I'd let you away with no dance?"

Erinstar eyes the cheesecake with a mischievious grin.

Tarinalas takes out his flute and begins to play a lively dance tune.

Gallia laughs. "Of course not. I only was about to taste my cheesecake before it was all gone." She makes no move to pull away from the dance, however.

Laupilin holds Gallia tighter, and dances over near the table, picks up her cheesecake, and feeds it to her, all while they dance.

Gallia laughs, and tries not to choke on a cherry while she dances.

! Silgon glances from Elendir to ttt the dessert table. He smiles, and returns his gaze to Elendir.

Silgon looks over the dessert table, deciding which treat to try first.

Laupilin dances his way over to a corner, and slowls down, whispering more into Gallia's ear.

Laupilin whispers, "If only this night never ended...now we can enjoy a lifetime together...forever..."

Gallia leans close to hear what Laup has to say.

Laupilin whispers, "I promise never to let you go."

Gallia smiles and nods. She whispers back, "A promise I return, my love, my Laupilin."

Laupilin kisses Gallia first on the cheek, then slowly on the lips, before returning to the dance.

Elendir bends down and drinks some of the water that flows from the basin. He wipes him mouth and then returns to his seat.

Laupilin chuckles, dipping Gallia here and there, swerving in and out of the crowd.

Gallia follows Laupilin smoothly wherever he leads, a silly smile taking over her face.

Erinstar blinks in suprise as h! e watches Elendir drink from the fountain.

Laupilin swirls Gallia around, then picks her up and kisses her, in his arms.

Elendir raises an eyebrow at Erinstar. He calls out to him, "Do you have any complaint Sir?"

Silgon makes an odd face as Elendir refrains from the catered food. He pokes Elendir in fun, "Squire, in the city, we drink from cups."

Erinstar says, "Er, no. It's just that the fountain probably isn't the cleanest water to drink."

A bird starts suddenly from her perch on a nearby tree and wings away into the forest.

Elendir stands up with a small sigh and then walks slowly down the stairs as if something is on his mind.

Elendir climbs down the steps.

Gallia kisses her Laupilin back, forgetting for a moment that there is anybody else around.

Laupilin smiles, kissing Gallia, oblivious to the rest of the elves.

Silgon frowns as Elendir leaves the gathering, He mumbles to himself, "I hope I've not offended him..."

Erinstar grins to Laupilin, "Be careful you! goes don't stick like that." anddd d winks.

Gallia giggles and blushes as Erinstar's voice interrupts her concentration.

Laupilin breaks only quickly from the kiss. "It wouldn't bother me at all," before returning to Gallia's attention.

Erinstar laughs merrily at Laupilin's remark.

Gallia winks at Erinstar before once again accepting Laupilin's tender kiss.

Erinstar steals Gallia's cheesecake while she is distracted by Laupilin and begins to sneak off.

Gallia has long since forgotten about the cheesecake.

Laupilin slowly carries Gallia a bit down the stairs.

Laupilin climbs down the steps.

Here we leave the ceremony, and go do whatever it is elves do when they marry... sorry there's no log of that, folks. *wink*. Laupilin had to log out and I returned to OOCly log what was left of the party. I hope to have that ready to post, soon.

A special thanks to all of you who were able to attend and make this a memorable and enjoyable bit of RP for Laupilin and me. For thos! e of you who were unable to make it, I'm sorry and I hope that this log helps you fill a bit less left out. Feel free to take this log as IC information if you want to pretend you were there... just being quiet.

Namarie, Mellyn!
