Glynnis in Moria

Here we see Glynnis and a few of her friends. Err ... no wait ... here we see Glynnis in the company of some of our rather unfriendly neighbors from Moria. What we have here is Glynnis in Moria, shortly after her capture by a band of orcs.

The setting:

Moria, Jail Entrance

You stand in the widened expanse of what looks to have once been a mineshaft. A single rickety table and a decrepit chair stand against one wall as the only furnishings. At the west end of the tunnel is a large iron-bound door broken only by a small barred window, beyond which lies only darkness. The wood is aged and the iron tarnished and bent, yet the door holds firm. The walls and ceiling are hewn of granite and still bear the grooves and corse markings from the picks that hacked the stone away. The floor is smoothed and grooved for mine carts, but long since fouled by disuse. Refuse and gravel litter the floor. To the west the tunnel empties into a large well-lit cavern.

The door is currently: shut and locked.

Contents:
Sneezer (<-- Halabek)
Raug'Ra'ka
Morgnakh-Arkarn Warriors
Krom
Obvious exits:
Westerly Tunnel leads to Moria, Scout Barracks.
Large Iron Door leads to Moria, Jail Cell.

From Moria, Jail Cell, the little brown rat emits a barely audible squeak of fear as you approach.

[Raug'Ra'ka(#22232)]:

Krom stands at attention as a fellow Thrakburzum enters

From Moria, Jail Cell, the rat scurries off.

Borag trundles in shuffling his feet.

[Raug'Ra'ka(#22232)]:

Krom scuries off to get some grubs from the near by cellar.

Borag rests against one wall and surveys the room.

[Raug'Ra'ka(#22232)]:

Returning within minutes, Krom quickly stuffs a small wooden bowl through the slot in the jail cell door. Its contents squirms and wriggles, and as you look into it you see it has about seven or eight rather plump grubs in it.

Borag makes his way slowly over to the jail cell and stands on the tips of his toes to peek in the cell.

Sneezer waddles up to the jail cell and pokes his head through the window. He laughs drunkenly, and smooths his matted hair down onto his sweaty forehead. "Elfie! Ooh, elfie! Old Sneezer's come back again, are you ready for some more fun? I promised you that we would have a date." His stomach churns a deep rumble, and with a grunt he falls away from the door. "Blasted elves," he mutters under his breath.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis looks down at the bowl in disgust.

Borag flops to the ground and peeks through the slot in the base of the door to catch a glimpse of the elf.

[Raug'Ra'ka(#22232)]:

The Morgnakh-Arkarn Warriors squint hard at Borag, and then towards Sneezer.

They slowly begin to approach the two near the jail cell door. A foul steam comes from the trolls gapping maws as they tell you two in no uncertain terms to back away.

Borag turns his head and sees the warriors approaching. He stands quickly and withdraws from the door.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis notices Borag's position and quickly kicks the bowl so that it slides back out the slot and into his face.

Borag wipes the mush off his face with a slight growl, quickly cleaning his hand with his tongue.

Borag moves further from the door giving the trolls a wide berth.

Borag looks furtively back at the spilt bowl of food at the base of the cell.

Borag shambles quickly back and scoops it up.

Borag hurries out of the way towards the rear of the room.

Raug'Ra'ka says, "Is it true what I hear about you elf? That you are some high and mighty protector of Lorien? And that you somehow relate to the rise of a new power in Moria?"

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis watches the trolls guard warily, ignoring the orc.

Raug'Ra'ka laughs quietly as he sees the new comer scurrying about.

Borag, past the trolls now, plods quickly to the rear to the room and settles against the cold stone wall.

Sneezer grins foolishly, and jabs his arm through the bars of the window. He gropes about, trying to poke the elf, but can't quite reach. He giggles and pulls back. The guards glare at him strenly and one shoves him back. The poor drunk orc doesn't know any better and walks up to the window again and makes silly faces.

Raug'Ra'ka sits down against the wall and watches Sneezers anttics, and the soon to be coming reprisal from the Ologs.

Borag scoops large amount of food into his mouth with the middle- and forefinger of right hand, paying little attention to the interrogation.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis arches an eyebrow in distaste at the orc's antics at the window, drawing away when he attempts to touch her.

Raug'Ra'ka leaning against the wall, and rummaging in his satchel for something, he speaks out but in a manner that seems to say he doesnt expect an answer "What's the matter, you poor wretch ... did they cut out youre tongue?"

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis says nothing, keeping away from the door as far as the chains will enable her.

Sneezer chuckles stupidly, leaning back in hearty laughter but toppling down as he loses his balance. He lays on his back grinning sheepishly, and stares aimelssly at the ceiling. But a little uruk child, wandering into the jail room, sits on his face, smothering his blissful expression. He sits up in a spurred action, babbling. Some more guards give him disapproving glances.

Borag finishes the bowl of food quickly and and begins lapping the inner walls of the bowl with his tongue.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis makes a noise of disgust, drawing back further into the shadows of the cell.

Raug'Ra'ka sighs audibly as he pulls out some rather well made bread from his satchel. As he tears off a small peice with his claw he asks, "Is a pity, I hear elves are generally talkative ..."

Borag looks up at the large orc, fiendishly coveting his loaf of bread.

Raug'Ra'ka glances at Borag.

Borag looks the orc over.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis glances at the bread in spite of herself, then looks away again.

Raug'Ra'ka lifting the metal visor of his helm to expose his swarthy face, he places the small bit of bread into his jaws.

[Raug'Ra'ka(#22232)]:

After eating a bit more of the bread, Raug'Ra'ka asks, "Would you care for a bite of bread you sorrowful soul?"

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis narrows her eyes at the door. "I wish nothing of yours."

Borag rises to his feet, eyes trained on the bread, despite the question being directed to the elf.

Raug'Ra'ka shrieks in mock fear, "It Speaks!" but then after smirking to himself, says, "Perhaps this would be to youre liking then ... I stole it from a dun'ers home after a few of mine and I ran them off ... I always had a taste for such things ..."

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis jerks back at the shriek, then looks away from the door.

Borag licks his teeth with an audible smack, glancing back and forth between the cell door and Raug'Ra'ka.

Raug'Ra'ka sighs notably and looks to Borag, hissing foully, "Well, she doesnt seem to be hungry, so would you like a taste of this you little mud womper?"

Raug'Ra'ka notices the almost manic hunger in Borags eyes, he doesnt await an answer and tosses the bread halfway between himself and Borag.

Borag's eyes narrow at the insult, but he snatches up the bread and remains silent.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis watches the little scene outside the window, shaking her head, then glances up and hurriedly back down, eyes on her feet.

Borag eats the quarter-loaf of bread in a single bite.

Borag chews for several minutes, savoring the bread in his mouth.

Raug'Ra'ka says loudly, so that Glynnis can hear, "Do you know what they intend to do with you?", as he buckles his satchel and slowly rises to his feet.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis doesn't look up, but her head half-turns, unwillingly, to the window.

Borag swallows the bread slowly and seems to relax a bit.

Borag moves behind Raug'Ra'ka, as a replacement to his shadow, and trains his eyes on the cell door.

[Raug'Ra'ka(#22232)]:

Slowly stepping forward towards the cell door, Raug'Ra'ka grabs the shaft of the battle axe swinging at his side as a troll moves to bar his passage. He bellows, "Back you vermin! Or Ill skin you where you stand! I want no part in what this elf is for ..."

[Raug'Ra'ka(#22232)]:

Hesitently, the troll moves to the side, but all watch as Raug'Ra'ka removes his helm and peers with yellow eyes through the small bars of the door.

Borag steps up behind the orc, crowding him and trying to catch a peek at the elf in the cell beyond.

Raug'Ra'ka whispers quietly into the cell, but because Borag is crowding him he is able to hear most of it. "You don't know why you are here do you ..."

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis glances at the window, but says nothing.

Borag hops once trying desperately to see into the cell and then gives up with a growl. He withdraws two steps but continues to pay close attention to the interrogation.

Raug'Ra'ka quietly adds, "Well, I won't elaborate, but I dont think it will be pretty. It's a pity, it's been so long since I've found someone that listens as well as you ..."

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis spits out, "May the sun find you at noon in a wide-open field, weaponless."

Raug'Ra'ka turns to stare down at Borag and pushes past him as he strides over to the table. The trolls stare on, not sure exactly what to do about the other Uruk (Borag).

[Raug'Ra'ka(#22232)]:

Cackling loudly, Raug'Ra'ka turns and leans against the table, arms crossed in front of him with his helm dangling in one hand. "Me? The Sun? HA!" He says, "All that that foul brightness does is force me to squint as I strangle animals in youre forest!"

Borag blinks stupidly at the trolls and then turns, moving quickly and quietly away from the door.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis leans back against the wall, hands clenched into fists.

[Raug'Ra'ka(#22232)]:

The trolls regain their confidence as Borag moves away from the door and they howl, "Yeah, you best get way from da door!"

Borag lets out a barely audible grunt and tries to stand straighter to enhance his height.

Raug'Ra'ka says, "But mind, I must say that we need you elves...to tend our hunting grounds for us and keep them thriving with tastful creatures to fatten ourselves apon..."

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis narrows her eyes, head down. A slight light begins to fill the cell area.

Borag moves his hands to hips and furrows his brow in an attempt to look menacing.

[Raug'Ra'ka(#22232)]:

One of the trolls, in what he conciders a brilliant move, stomps one toeless foot loudly forward towards Borag in an attempt to startle him.

Borag's eyes widen at the trolls sudden movement. He glances at each of their faces quickly, trying to hide the growing fear in his body with a blank expression.

[Raug'Ra'ka(#22232)]:

Not noticing the light as he looks down towards the helm in his hands, Raug'Ra'ka says, "But I had hoped to learn some from you...since I have had the privilage to be one of the very few taught to read and write, I have found that I crave knowledge ..."

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis looks up, unpleasantly surprised one of the foul vermin could possibly learn that.

[Raug'Ra'ka(#22232)]:

Abscently examining his helm, Raug'Ra'ka adds, "Its the oddest thing ... I'll listen to anything if you will ... anything at all you might have to say...as you can expect, the company around here outside the circle is miserable. I'd think youd know this ... from sitting here with these dottering beasts ..."

Borag seems to have been dismissed by the trolls. He widens his stance slightly and crosses his arms across his chest, turning his attention once again to the interrogation.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis snorts, barely audibly.

Borag quickly loses interest, he turns and makes his way to the back wall of the room.

Raug'Ra'ka angrily hisses, "What must we do to get you to talk!!!" as he slams his helm to the table and stands up tall and mighty, to the point that even the slowest trolls back up a pace.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis glances sharply at the door at the outburst, then smiles grimly.

Borag winces at the loud noise behind his back, looking back quickly.

[Raug'Ra'ka(#22232)]:

Holding his hand apon the top of the helm and drumming his fingers apon it loudly, he wonders aloud, "If I bring a beast from the forest to you and slice it open to spill its bowels apon this floor, would that get you to SPEAK!?"

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis narrows her eyes, but says nothing. The light in the cell flickers a bit, growing a tad bit brighter.

Borag slips his backpack off his back and flops to the ground, resting the back between his legs.

Borag rummages through the pack, withdrawing a tattered rag and battered crucible filled with some unnamable green-black slime.

Raug'Ra'ka furrows his brows and spits at the ground, cursing the mettle of the prisoner under his breath. He hisses a foul steam from his lungs and adds, "We will just have to try and see ..." as he turns to leave the room, storming through the exit.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis says, "Stop."

Borag slides the short, black, wicked-curved scimitar from the sheath on his back and lays it across his lap.

Raug'Ra'ka stops, just short of the doorway, but doesnt turn around. He says, "Did someone say something?"

Borag looks up with for just a second at the sound from the cell and then about the ground for the tattered rag.

Borag spies the rag and raps it around the fingers on his right hand.

Borag dips the rag into the crucible and withdraws a heavy dollop of the green-black goo.

Borag strokes and rubs the blade of his scimitar in a tight circular motion.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis glances at the door, the light from the cell brigher.

Borag anoints the length of the blade with the green-black goo several times before flipping it over and grabbing for the crucible again.

Borag looks up from his work at Raug'Ra'ka.

Raug'Ra'ka shakes his head at the jest of the prisoner and continues on out the door.

Borag dips the rag into the crucible again and begins to anoint the other side of his blade.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis says, "Stop, I said."

Borag lets out a gaping yawn, the meal in his belly beginning to make him lethargic.

Raug'Ra'ka turns and thunders back in to the room bellowing "What is it you foul jester! Don't irk me or Ill rattle youre cage down atop of you!"

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis looks almost bemused. "I said stop."

Raug'Ra'ka squints fouly from his upturned visor as he regains his composer. "And why did you say that?"

Borag finishes the rear side of his blade, blinking and yawning uninhibitedly.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis says, "There is no need to slaughter anything on my account."

Borag gathers up the crucible and the rag and tosses them carelessly into his pack.

Borag slips his dark scimitar into the sheath on his back once again and looks to Raug'Ra'ka.

Raug'Ra'ka grins ravenously and says, "Oh, Id slaughter them even if you werent here ... but to do it to many and needlessly would be a bonus if it is what is needed to get you to speak of what you know ..."

Raug'Ra'ka looks about the room, and then points to Borag saying, "I'd strangle him if Id thought it would loosen youre tongue ..."

From Moria, Jail Cell Glynnis snorts. "Be my guest."

Borag leans back into the wall, stretching his legs out in front of him. His eyes grow wide and his lethargy leaves him as he sees the big orc focus on him.

Raug'Ra'ka nods and says, "I know it would have little effect to stir you, and this is not the time to do things to please myself ... if it was, I'd just as soon squeeze youre secrets out of you then the life out of him..."

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis narrows her eyes. "You are very brave behind that door."

Borag's eyes narrow at the comment. He slides his legs closer to his body and slowly and queitly draws himself to his feet.

Raug'Ra'ka hisses, "But now I go to gather what we can find in the forest to bring deep into here to show you what usually becomes of the game that you keep for us ..."

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis says, "Feel free. My men will shoot you dead before you so much as brush a leaf from a mallorn."

[Borag(#14728)]:

The muscles in Borag's jaw ripple slightly as he gnashes his teeth together.

Raug'Ra'ka grins and says, "Brave yes, foolish no. I am not about to risk you're life as well as mine by unlocking youre cell. While I can cut one down with ease, this many Ologs even I cannot defeat ... their orders stand to kill any who attempt to take you ..."

Borag keeps his eyes on the large orc as he reaches down takes up his pack.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis's eyes flash at this information. "Do they, now."

Borag slings the pack onto one shoulder.

Raug'Ra'ka hisses, "Unless of course, one has permission..." and he smiles at his last words.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis says, "How might they get that?"

Raug'Ra'ka looks to Borag and says, "You, dush! Where are you buggering off to?"

Borag lets out a low hiss. "Gar, Borag goes no where."

Raug'Ra'ka hisses quickly to Glynnis, "You're trivial chatter hurts my ears, I am now going to do what must be done ... when and if I return you can question me all you desire and perhaps you will find my tongue as dead as youre own ..."

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis says, "Would that I had such luck."

Raug'Ra'ka bellowing back to Borag, "Good! You stay here and keep an eye out for me ... tell me who comes and goes from this place ... and what you hear. You do a good enough job and perhaps youre future won't be so bleak."

Borag sneers and kicks the dirt on the floor at his feet.

Raug'Ra'ka smirks slightly at the wit of the elf, but says nothing more. He strides out of the room, and as he exits the door he says, "Make sure you keep an eye peeled dush, or I'll peel it for you!"

Borag growls more loudly as the orc moves further away.

Raug'Ra'ka heads West.

Raug'Ra'ka has left.

Borag flops back to the ground after the orc has gone and prepares for his nap.

Borag puts his pack under his head and closes his eyes, in moments he is snoring loudly and oblivious to all that goes on around him.

From Moria, Jail Cell, Glynnis snorts at the preparing to slumber orc. "How you ever took Moria is beyond my comprehension...oh, that's right. You were battling dwarves." She shakes her head, winces, and leans back against the wall, closing her eyes.
