THE PLAYERS: Lendalas As you gaze towards Lendalas, you notice for an elf he is slightly on the short side, standing a little over 6 feet tall. Gently, the wind blows his wavy brown hair and you feel an aura of calm about him. His eyes glitter a soft grey as they dance merrily in the lighting. Your glance catches his eye and he flashes you a warm smile. Lendalas wears a soft dark blue tunic with short open sleeves. Small mellyrn are sewn elegently along the border in gold thread and a small star is weaved in silver on his collar. Beneath his coat, he wears a long sleeve shirt of pure white. His leggings were of a tan color, and match his deep brown boots. About his waist he wears his soft leather belt with silver studs. A thin band of silver can be seen about his forehead. At Lendalas' side, he wears a finely crafted longsword. Although it is well made, you can see no ornamentation upon it's pommel. Orophin Standing before you is an elf of more than average height. Because of his tall stature, his build seems even slimmer than normal, though his graceful and fluid motions counter any notions of awkwardness. His long blonde hair flows down his back, weaving its way around a cowl of shining white. Below this cowl, a cloak of grey shifting colors hangs. The cloak serves to make him nearly invisible in almost any surrounding, but is especially adapted to the shadows of his woodland home. Under the cloak, he's clad in a beautiful suit of scalemail who's artistry almost belies its strength. Each of the metal scales is crafted in the shape of a leaf and colored in varying shades of deep green that match the stunning green of his eyes; eyes that look as though they could pierce the surrounding foliage as easily as an arrow from his longbow. His legs, between the bottom of the scalemail and the tops of his knee high leather boots, are clad in a black fabric of unkown make. In his hand, he holds a splendid and terrible longsword, the hilt fashioned of spiralling rope-like silver, the razor sharp blade reflecting the light of a thousand stars as he holds it at the ready. The sword's scabbard, strapped to his waist, is fashioned of black leather, with matching rope-like veins of silver running the length. Charmat The young maiden before you is a child of nature. Her crystal sea-blue eyes sparkle like the sunshine dancing across the active waters of a turbulent river. White hair cascades down her back as a raging waterfall, not to be tamed. Her face shines with the light of the moons. Gentle features like that of the moonlit landscape echo her nature of sweet carefullness. Her stature a mirror of a tall willowy tree, making her appear about 6 feet tall. Simply dressed, her clothes run the same theme of pale dulled green. The darkest of green is her boots, which look fairly new, but rather scuffed. A brown cloth of natural fibers hangs as some sort of sling. If you watch long enough you might see the bulge in the sling move, or a tiny nose peek out. Field Hospital You are in a small clearing cut into the thickets. All about you, the bushes and trees grow thick and unwavering, blocking out most of the sunlight and dimming the atmosphere. Dispite the lack of sunlight or moonlight, the clearing gives of a calm, quiet, secure feeling. Here is where the Cuigrithweg have made their Field Hospital. Several woven mats are laid about on the ground in neat rows and a pair of small chests rest at the north side of the Hospital. High above the mats, a large tarp is strung to provide some shelter on the off chance that it should rain. On the south side of the clearing, a small stream runs by the Hospital. It also serves as the only entrance and exit.
Contents: Lendalas sits on the far end of the clearing chatting with a young elven child. Charmat opens her eyes slowly, blinking as the cool air hits her pupils. The squirrel on her chest lets out a loud peep in surprise.
Orophin crosses the stream assisted by the nearby apprentice. Orophin makes his way through the thickets and looks about Charmat groans quietly as she tries to roll over and sit up, sending the little squirrel scurring up the tree again. Orophin frowns slightly as he surveys the scene, a slight look of confusion crosses his face as he moves towards Lendalas. Lendalas sits over in the corner of the tent, chatting animatedly with a young elf child. Charmat's eyes flutters as they fully open, the light in them dim, but definetly there. Orophin takes it from Lend's conversation that all's normal around here and his brows furrow as he again scans the scene. Charmat sighs deeply and gives up rolling over, and instead casts her eyes about looking for someone. Orophin moves over to the stream and kneels down to drink from the cool water. Charmat catches sight of Orophin, and starts trying to call him over. At first her voice is a bare whisper, but it slowly grows to hoarse bark, "Sir.. Sir.." she repeats until he pays attention. Orophin shakes the water off his hands then turns to look at Charmat as he hears her quiet whisper. He quickly stands and approaches her prone figure, "Yes mellon?" Charmat rests back against the mat again, her red eyes tired, her head torn, and her side bandaged. Licking her lips, she struggles to get out whatever it is that she feels compelled to say, "I saw her, sir.. I saw her.." Orophin leans close over Charmat's tired form to better hear her words, "Who? Who did you see?" Charmat licks her lips again, her eyes fluttering, threatening to close.. "The Protector, sir.. I saw her.." She rests a beat or two, then tries to talk again, but this time nothing comes out and she stops to rest for a moment, the look in her eyes not letting Orophin leave. Orophin quickly looks about the area and steps away for a moment to fetch a stool. When he returns, he takes a seat near the bedside and rests a hand on Charmat's shoulder as he says, "When did you see her? And where?" Before waiting for a reply, he adds, "...take your time." Lendalas pats the young elf child on the head and rises. Turning, he sees Orophin standing by Charmat's pallet. Quietly, he strides and stands over next to him. He smiles briefly when he sees that Charmat is awake. Orophin looks up to Lendalas as he arrives, but quickly turns his attention back to the struggling Charmat. Charmat's hand comes up to rub at her bandages, as her eyes scrunch at the pain. With a slight nod, she takes note of Lendalas' presense, but most of her energy goes to trying to tell Orophin her news.. With a croak of words, she says, "I saw her while I slept.." She waits for a moment to see his eyes, his reaction, but doesn't give him a moment to leave, thinking she was a fool. "I actually saw her.. I have something to tell you.. Will you listen?" She stops and rests again while she awaits his answer. Orophin nods slowly, "Aye, I will listen. It was a similar dream that brought me here from the far field to find you awakening." Lendalas rubs his chin and walks over to a small table on the other side of the Hospital. After a few moments, he returns with a small bowl filled with a steaming liquid that smells like... strawberries? Charmat glances at the bowl, her nose taking in the sweet scent. Soon the bowl is forgotten, and she turns once again to speak to Orophin, her voice shakey, but a bit stronger.. The strength coming from the over wellming need to get her words out.. "She was being taken to.. To.. I dunno.. Something horrible.." a tear streams down her cheek, then she goes on, "They were marching her somewhere.. I feel it was to her doom.." Once again she stops, breathing harshly as her hand comes to her side to craddle the bandages there. Lendalas pauses as he waits for Oro and Charmat to finish speaking. Orophin frowns trying to comprehend what this could mean, "Where was she? Below the ground? Or does she yet walk under the stars?" Lendalas furrows his brow as he listens to Oro and Char's words. Throughout the questioning process, Orophin's voice remains soft and as comforting as possible. He tries not to press beyond Charmat's weak means and is patient in his manner. Charmat blinks as Orophin speaks, and shakes her head, "I don't know.. It was so dark.." Suddenly her face goes blank, then animates again, but this time she is staring off into the trees, looking at something far off on another plain.. Her voice becomes strangled and words come rapidly, "The caverns are so black! I can barely see.. I feel Glynnis.. She's here, and they're here.. and it smells so bad.." She stops to breathe.."Glynnis is so afraid.. She can see her death before her.. Wait! There's fighting!.. all around her there is fighting!.. Run Glynnis! Run! She's running! She's so affraid! But she is running so fast! She doesn't know the way... She runs in the direction that she thinks freedom is!" Suddenly her fearful eyes come upon Orophin, and her hand reaches, clinging, "Save her Orophin!" Lendalas jumps as Charmat cries out and reaches for Orophin, a little bit of the hot liquid spilling out of the edges of the bowl. Orophin grasps Charmats hand as it clasps onto his cloak and gently removes it and places it in her lap before brushing her cheek softly, "I will try....<quieter>...I will try." He then stands and looks down at Charmat, "Rest now mellon, your message has been delivered." He then looks to both of you and says, "I must go now, excuse me mellyn. The hunt is on..." And with that, he turns and strides off into the trees, his cloak billowing out behind him. A moment later, you can hear a shrill whistle blow through the woods. Lendalas nods to Orophin as he leaves, and steps forward with his steaming bowl, "Here you go... some tea will make you feel a little bit better." He lowers it towards Charmat. Charmat bursts into tears as the relief envelopes her, but the smile she wears is brighter then the moon itself.. She whispers, "Thank you.."
Orophin crosses the small stream using the hidden guide ropes. Charmat turns and notices the tea, and smiles, leaning up to take some of the warming liquid. The sun sinks in the sky and falls below the horizon. Nighttime takes over. Charmat attempts to sit up so that she can drink the entire cup (Bowl?), the taste and warmth reviving her to the point of feeling alive again. <Lorien> Orophin delivers an IC message over the com....Everyone in the Wood hears a shrill whistle as it is carried through the wood and passed on by guards scattered along the paths. Lendalas lets Charmat finish the tea and retrieves the bowl. Holding it close to his body, he says, "Hmm... How do you feel, Apprentice?" Charmat's eyes go to the woods beyond as she listens to the activity.. She relaxes completely now, from the tea yes, but also from knowing that things will be taken care of. Her bright eyes then go to Lendalas and she smiles, answering with a much stronger voice, "I feel very well.." or atleast close. Lendalas nods slightly, his face again solemn. "That is good. I'm afraid that I will be unable to stay much longer. The Herbmaster and other Apprentices will be taking care of you now. Rest easy..." Charmat smiles and nods, laying back down to rest, but not before she says, "Thank you very much, sir.. You've done so much for me.. I am always your friend.." Lendalas smiles briefly, and his seriousness warming for just a few moments, "Aye. I hope ye would be. I also hope ye remember what it is to be on the receiving end of a healer..." He pauses, "It may help ye in yer studies ahead." Charmat blinks at that thought, then lays back contemplating.. Lendalas nods again slowly and reaches out to pat Charmat on the arm, "Aye... well. Rest up." He smiles, "If ye ever have need of anything, and I may be of service, please don't hesitate to ask." Charmat chuckles lightly at that, and nods, "And I you.. Though I can't think of a thing I could do for you.." Her eyes twinkle with the old light. Lendalas grins again, a warm gleam in his eye, "Aye... well... thank ye. And now... I must be off. Messages to deliver, people to see." Lendalas waves and slips quickly off through the forest. Charmat smiles and nods, waving, "Bye.. "
