Kathalis and Gillhach on Cerim Amroth

Cerin Amroth
You are standing by a great mound on which grows two rings of trees. The trees of the outer ring are leafless with a bark of snowy white; beautiful in their shapely nakedness. Those of the inner ring are golden Mallorns. In the center of the mound stands the tallest Mallorn of all, and high up in its boughs rests a wide flet. There of old was the dwelling of Amroth, Prince of Lorien and lover of Nimrodel. He departed over the sea long ago, yet you can feel his spirit around you here, lingering still...

It is morning, but a while before midday, (one might surmise from the position of the sun, as it's golden rays filter down through the eaves of the endless forest) And here, the sun shines infinately brighter; Cerin Amroth, the heart of Laurelindorenan as it was of old, and of all elvendom in milddle earth. Upon the mound a maid is sat, on the soft grass amongst the blooms of niphredil and elanor. Absorbed in though it seems, and heedless of most anything that passes.

Silently from the west, a single figure approachs, moving slowly out of the shadows, this white cowled figure, moves to approach the maid.

As one nears, they might see the maid is not quite so idle. A whetstone is sat in one of her dainty hands; in t'other an arrowhead. Slowly, with metal grating as 'tis smoothed, she sharpens the implement. And yet, she seems still distant, and innatentive to her task.

The silent figure continues to approach the maid, his hands clasped behind his back....stoping about 5 paces away he says softly, "Mae Govannen, Gillhach."

"Kathalis," A wan smile touches Gillhachs' lips, "Good day." Emerald eyes draw into focus, whilst in her hands: metal grinds still on stone. "I pray you are well..."

Kathalis smiles soflty down to you and says soflty, "Aye I am well mellon, How are you this day?" his owe silver eyes scaning her face.

"Well enough, thank you..." Gillhach switches the arrowhead over, sharpening its other edge. Squinting slightly at the light, she looks up. "You are come from the fences, or on you way thither?"

Kathalis nods and says, "Aye, I just came from the norther fences, and thought I would rest here." as he moves to take a seat near to you, "Before continuing on to the Naith.

"Ah..." she nods slowly, "That is well," A smile curls her lips, "'Tis a glorious day, no less, to be out and about..."

Satisfied with it's finish, she lifts the impliment to the sun, whose light glitters on it's edge. "...even if one sits idle." Setting the whetstone aside, she tests the little blade with a finger. Smiling grimly as it draws blood, as would a razor, she continues, "You seek rest? Strange to be so wearied whilst 'neath the eaves of the lady's wood."

Kathalis smiles slightly and says, "Long hours on patrol can tire anyone..." he smiles slightly, "and it tis a excuss to sits here and look apon the beautiy around me."

Gillhach nods, "'Tis a truth, that. And yet one should not seek excuses... beauty is all about us. It requires but the eyes to see it." Shying her eyes a moment, she places the arrowhead in a little pouch on her belt, drawing the string tight. Similarly with the whetstone, from where it lay upon the grass. "And one might spend an eternity seeking out the many facets of that thing we name beauty... even shadows might be named fair, save those cast by the servants of the enemy..."

Kathalis nods momentarilly and smiles, "Aye that is true mellon." he leans back and looks up to the sky, "And yourself, what brings you here today?"

After a moment, she answers; "Nostalgia perhaps... I have not come hither for some while..." She shrugs a shallow shrug, a little smile upon her lips, "Besides, I had some trifles to perform at hand... and the roadside was never all that accomidating."

Kathalis smiles as well looking to the sky still he says, "Aye it never was that.

"So," Gillhach breaks the silence, and with a smile she asks, "What of you? and of my little sister? You both are, and have been well I hope..."

Kathalis smiles and nods, 'Very well thank you.." he looks to you, "Protector Haldir recently left for some rest, leaving Talia in control of the order for now."

Gillhach's brow is raised, "Oh aye? She should do well enough, that lass... as ever she did." She smiles, "But what of you both? I should hope marriage agrees with ye..." Her smile widens, "Might I hope to become an aunt, ere long?"

Kathalis chuckles softly, "I don't know about how soon you will become an aunt Gillhach." he smiles, "Talia and I have agreed we are not ready for children..."

Gillhach seems somewhat deflated, "Oh? A shame perhaps... but each to their own preference... time is relative. I have had no children close of kin for quite a while..."

Kathalis smiles, "Perhaps one day mellon.." he smiles, "We do want to have them one day..." he smiles, "Who knows perhaps you and Aglahad will have children..."
