Galadriel and Gillhach

Royal Chamber
You catch your breath as you look around at the magnificent chamber you have entered. Its floor is a talan as wide as the deck of a great ship, set high up in the boughs near the center of the Great Mallorn tree. The chamber is oval in shape, with walls of gold, the leaves of the Mallorn. The trunk of the tree grows through the center of the chamber. By the side of the chamber is the white ladder which leads down to the bottom of the tree. Two thrones, one of silver and the other of gold, sit at one end of the chamber on a raised dias.

The Lady is seated in the large silver throne in a most casual state. One long leg is dangled over a chairarm, her skirts flowing over it. She looks up as the noise of someone entering is heard and smiles a welcoming greeting towards Gillhach.
Galadriel turns around to sit squarely in the throne now. She quietly appraises Gillhach as the maid approaches her. The large room is empty except for Galadriel and the few quards making Gillhach the center of attention for those already there.

Preceeded and announced by a runner, having ascended the great tree; so Gillhach walks into the great royal chamber, and, dropping to a curtsy before Galadriel, she speaks; "Good afternoon m'lady," A smile curls her rosy lips, "Might I entreat you to an audience?"

Galadriel spreads her arms wide, and responds with a smile. "As you can see, I'm not very busy at the moment. You've chosen a good time." She motions for Gillhach to come closer to the dias. "What do you wish to speak of?"

So motioned, Gillhach approaches the dais, stopping there; "A matter which m'lord Celeborn directed me to discuss with you some time ago, m'lady." She curtsies once more, "If you would, m'lady? It is a matter which has long concerned me."

Galadriel's face takes on a more sober appearance. "Something that has concerned you?" she prompts.

Still standing, mayhap at the presumption that she may not sit; Gillhach nods, "Aye my lady, though I must admit that I myself am at a loss as to't," She continues, "'Twas in past counsel with good lord Celeborn that he directed me to talk to you, for some reason that escapes me." She smiles then, "And yet, I'm not one to question my Lord's counsel, and so..." She gestures expansively.

Galadriel tilts her head to the side looking at Gillhach with puzzlement. "Well now," she says with a smile, "Let's talk about you then. What have you been up to lately? We haven't seen you much about the hall..."

Puzzlement indeed evident upon her face at that, Gillhach explains; "My sister is stricken, m'lady, but," She reflects inwardly, "of course you know that." Her bosom heaves with a sigh, "I am come to the city only in some attempt to aid her recovery, though I know not what I may do." She pauses momentarily, "else I might still be out in the woods. I have sought some solace since I discharged my duties in the order."

Galadriel's face echoes the severity of Talia's condition, but smooths quickly into the calm mask. "I'm sure your being near to her is a great help, mellon... Has your time in the woods done you any good?" she asks, changing back to the subject of Gillhach herself.

"Aye," Gillhach nods her head in an affirmative, "I should hope so m'lady. I've had time enough to reflect on things past, and set my mind to the future."

The beginning of a smile appears on Galadriels lips then. "You do seem more settled than the last time we talked," she says, adding, "I hope your way is clearer now."
