Field Hospital
You are in a small clearing cut into the thickets. All about you, the bushes and trees grow thick and unwavering, blocking out most of the sunlight and dimming the atmosphere. Dispite the lack of sunlight or moonlight, the clearing gives of a calm, quiet, secure feeling. Here is where the Cuigrithweg have made their Field Hospital. Several woven mats are laid about on the ground in neat rows and a pair of small chests rest at the north side of the Hospital. High above the mats, a large tarp is strung to provide some shelter on the off chance that it should rain. On the south side of the clearing, a small stream runs by the Hospital. It also serves as the only entrance and exit.

Kathalis sits near the cot where the serverly injured Terridan lays, his own face appreaing bruised and cut severaly

A cloaked figure comes rushing through the thickets, carrying various bags of different sizes and colours. Entering the field hospital, the figure stops and looks around.

Seeing the wounded elves, the Healer puts all the bags but one near the herbal chest, and rushes toward Kathalis and Terridan. She looks at Kathalis and says, "My dear Captain, you've got yourself hurt again. But..." She stares at Terridan and says, "It seems Banneret Terridan has taken quite worse wounds. Any of you been tended, mellon?"

Kathalis says softly, "I did what I could for him... As did lord Celeborn last night when we arrived..." he shakes his head slowly.

Raising her eyebrows, Aldarwen says, "Lord Celeborn? I hadn't heard he had been near the fighting..." She looks down at Terridan once again and sighs, "It seems we will have to work hard with him." She raises her head and look toward Kathalis once again, "Could you tell me where you've been hurt while I warm up some water?". With this she turns and goes just a few paces away to start a small fire.

Kathalis says, "Me...I just got shield bashed and clawed across the face a few times nothing serious..

As Kathalis speaks, the Healer nods once. The fire burns musically and fills the place around with a soft herbal smell. She takes a small clay pot from her bag and fills it with water from the side river. As she returns to the fire, she asks, "And what about Terridan?"

Kathalis says softly, "It's my fault, I should have come to his aid with that uruk unstead fo that human.." he shakes his head, "he has several axe wounds..."

This time the Healer does not nod, but shakes her head, sighing softly as she does so. From the bag she takes out some fresh herbs, breaking them in pieces she puts them into the water and looks again toward Kathalis, she speaks loudly enough to be heard, although not to disturb the sleeping elf, "I'm sure you did your best, Captain".

Kathalis nods slowly and says softly, "Aye I know...its just seeing those under my command in such a condition..."

Once again Aldarwen opens her bag and from the inside she fetches a small cup and a large spoon. Usign the spoon she fills the cup with the herbal liquid. She goes to Kathalis with the cup and says, "Now, mellon, drink this, it will make you feel better while I clean your wounds".

Kathalis nods and takes the medicine sitting silently he allows Aldarwen to work.

The Healer quickly goes again to the side river and returns with a cup filled of fresh water. She dips her fingers into the cup and then touches the wounds on Kathalis' face slowly, so as not to allow the wounds to burn his face. She looks at the carefully and says, "Yes, they are not of worry, I will clean them well, and I think that will be alright. Were you hurt in some other place?"

Kathalis winces slightly the mussles in his face twitch slightly as you touch the wounds along his face.

From her bag, Aldarwen takes some other herbs, different from the ones used in the tea, and starts humming a soft melody as she breaks them in pieces into the fresh water. She mixes the liquid with her fingers, and keeps humming her song, as a kind of enchantation. Staring at the wounds, she passes the wet fingers slowly over each of them, pressing the liquid just enough to allow it to penetrate the skin. As she does this, the song grows in volume and in merryment, the maiden's voice dances around the Captain taking as much attention as possible.

Kathalis sighs softly and slowly begins to relax beneath the healer's attentions...

Aldarwen keeps singing her song as she finishes cleaning all the wounds. She caresses Kathalis' face a bit, and smiles as she sees him relaxing. She speaks very softly to him, "You should sleep some now, Captain, and you will be alright aftewards". With this, her hands leave Kathalis and she turns a bit to look at Terridan once again.

Kathalis says softly, "Aye mellon but just for a short time."

Aldarwen nods to Kathalis, her eyes still caught by Terridan's wounds.

Kathalis sits back in the chair silently resting, but watching Terridan as he does.

Aldarwen fills another cup with fresh water and returns to Terridan's side. She starts to take out the bandages, doing it very slowly, not to disturb the resting elf. Her hands move around his body with extreme care, and soon the wounds are made visible. As she sees them, her face becomes even darker.

Aldarwen takes out some more herbs from her bag and breaks them into her cup. Her eyes are dark, and her lips tremble very slightly as she does so. She passes her wet hands over the wounds, but soon realizes that is not enough. Taking some clean bandages from her bag, she wets them in the water, then pressing them slowly into the wounds.

Terridan is laying out on the cot quiet, apparantly resting. As Aldarwen begins to treat him though, he slowly stirs, moaning softly.

As she lets the herbal liquid enter Terridan's body, Aldarwen begins humming her soothing melody, to keep the Banneret away from the thought of his wounds. When all the wounds have drank from the sweet water, she takes some more clean bandages and starts to put them in place of the old ones.

Terridan looks up towards Aldarwen slowly as his eyes open, and after a moment, a faint smile reaches his pace face. He lays back down, and remains still, allowing the healer to do her work.

The voice of the Healer raises once again, in merry dance, singing about the sun and the birds and the colours of spring. And while she sings, her hands work quickly and carefully over the wounds. When she finishes she speaks to Terridan in soft voice and a smile upon her lips, "Good Morning, Banneret, I hope you could sleep well, after that tiny fight you had..."

Terridan chuckles softly, then lays his head back, "As... well as can... be expected, mellon..." his voice is soft, and slightly faint, "How... how are the rest of the guards?"

The smile still filling Aldarwen's face, she speaks again in her soft musical voice, "The rest is alright, you don't have to worry about them, mellon. And now, if you don't mind, I'll ask you to drink some warm herbal tea, that will allow you to heal quicklier." With this, she rises and goes to the small fire she had started a short while ago, and using the large spoon, fills another cup with the warm liquid in the clay pot.

Managing a small nod, Terridan tries to prop himself up on his arms, which he manages after a few moments. He sighs heavily, looking down at his banadaged form, "I should have seen the second one coming..."

Aldarwen takes the cup to Terridan's side and, staring at his position, she decides to help him drink. She takes the cup to his lips and inclines it very very slowly. While she does so, she speaks very softly again, "I was not there to watch you, Banneret, but I'm sure you fought bravely. Now let's forget that awful event and try to rest."

Terridan sighs softly, but before he can speak again, he finds himself with a cup at his lips. He begins to drink slowly. He listens to Aldarwen's words, then after she lowers the cup, he nods, "Aye... let us forget it..."

Kathalis sits silently listening to the two of you...

Caressing Terridan's face slowly, Aldarwen asks, "How do you feel, Banneret?"

Terridan chuckles softly, then lays back down, though his eyes close in comfort at the touch, "Like an axe went through my chest..."

Something can be heard to stirr in the thicket; doubtless some small creature, one unrestrained by the thick briar. Forsooth; but shortly, a coney can be seen, loping merrily about, and munching 'pon the stunted grasses 'neath the hedge. Soon though, it starts; not at noise, for none comes. And, though a tall, grey-clad figure can be seen the negotiate a way through the brush, it does so with naery a sound to mark it's passage.

Kathalis glances up as he notices movement at the entrace to the hospital and says softly, "Mae govannen Gillhach."

Aldarwen nods slowly as she helps him lay back, "Alright, we should try to put some remedy for that". With this, she stands up and goes to the chest of herbs. While she stands there she looks just a second to the source of the sounds of the thickets and then, smiling a bit to herself, she keeps selecting the herbs and putting them in her hands. Once she has got what she wants, she goes to the small fire (that is almost dead, now).

Terridan looks over to watch Aldarwen work, then manages another smile. "How long have you been here, mellon?"

Putting some of the herbs into the fire, Aldarwen blows strongly into it, and the dancing flames appear again, the sweet calming smell filling the place and all those around with its healing scent. The Healer then takes the other herbs in her hands and, breaking them into small pieces, she puts them into the clay pot filled with water. Turning toward Terridan she says smiling, "I think I've been here for a couple of hours now, I don't know, because I've been working since I arrived"

Terridan nods his head once, then smiles, "Thank you, Aldarwen..."

Taking the large spoon once again, Aldarwen fills another cup with the warm liquid, and approaches Terridan with it. The smell that comes from it is strong and soothing. The Healer allows the vapours coming from the tea to round the Banneret's face and then says, "Maybe, if you could drink this, your pain could lessen".

Terridan smiles softly, then takes the cup again, taking in the scent for a moment, before drinking it slowly, and setting it down, "Gladly I will drink it then..."

Upon reaching the little stream that runs afore it's entrance, the figure can be seen to cross the water, by way of the rope there strung. Onwards then, up to the Cuigrithweg's outpost it comes; and walking 'neath the tapaulin hung aloft, from beneath the cowl swathed about it's face, the figure can be seen to look about. It's gaze falling upon the stricken banneret, and the master that tends him.

Watching Terridan drinking, Aldarwen starts singing again, her enchantation song, singing about the beauty of the mellyrn in spring, and the warmth of a sunbathe in summer, and the rushing endless sound of the Nimrodel.
