White Road
You are standing on a road paved with white stone that encircles a huge hill, upon which towers a mighty stand of Mallorns. A white bridge stretches north, towards the hill, and a white road follows the course of a stream which encircles the entire hill. To the south, a infreqently used pathway heads off into the forest. Strange lights flicker amongst the mighty mallorns, and you wonder what lies beyond the bridge...

Obvious exits:
South leads to Forest Pathway.
North leads to On the Bridge.
West leads to White Road.
East leads to White Road.

Bleddyn is sitting at the base of a tree looking into the water.

Aldarwen comes strolling peacefully, seemingly in her own thoughts, and stops suddenly as she notices Bleddyn.

Aldarwen approaches him warily, staring at every movement of his.

Bleddyn looks up and smiles.

Aldarwen smiles a bit, obviously scared by the Human's appearence. She goes back one pace and breathes in and out, as to getting some courage to speak.

Aldarwen says in Sindarin, "Hello! I suppose you are the human that went to Fangorn. Am I right?"

Bleddyn nods his head and says "<Sindarin> Yes. I am the one."

Aldarwen nods to herself and tries to smile again, "And you have come back to tell us what you have found?"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "I've told a few already. Yes."

Aldarwen nods again to herself and says softly, "I'm amazed that you could enter it and come out of it again..." She remains where she is, but her attitude is now a bit more relaxed.

Bleddyn chuckles and says "<Sindarin> As I am made to understand. Even by the creature I met there. Ent I believe it is called."

Aldarwen's eyes open wide and shine as you say that word. She smiles more sincerily now and asks, "So, what did the Ent tell you?"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "Not a lot. We talked for a long time but not much was said in total by the Ent. It did say that no goblins had been seen in the area."

Aldarwen nods, and asks again, "Did he tell you his name?" after a very short pause she corrects, "I mean his SHORT name".

Bleddyn nods and says "<Sindarin> *he* called himself Greenleaf."

Aldarwen nods and presses her lips a bit, "I see." She stays silent with her face lost looking towards the south and then continues, "Is there anything I could do for you? Are you well fed and tended?"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "Oh yes. I am fine. I am much used to being in the woods alone. Even in Fangorn I was able to find food except in one portion where I became lost for a few days."

Aldarwen nods, "Which portion was that?"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "North and west of what I would call the center of the forest. I came to a very dark section that was covered in a weird blass moss of some sort. Reminded me of some sections of Mirkwood."

Aldarwen's eyes open up again, but this time there's a worried look in them. "A weird blass moss? Was it attached to the trees? Please, tell me more about that".

Bleddyn nods, a strange look on his face now, and says "<Sindarin> Yes. All over the trees. It seemed to suck up the light and deaden all sound. I wandered lost for two days as far as I can tell. And I saw strange floating lights. It was truly strange."

Aldarwen's lips tremble a bit as you describe the illness, "That's indeed something done by an evil force... Did you check your clothes when you left, not to carry some of that thing with you?"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "I crossed a number of streams and swam one. I brought none out of the forest and did not want to touch it."

Aldarwen nods again and sighs, still worried about the moss. "Thank you for telling me this." She looks at him for a short while and then says, "Are you going to stay in our woods much longer?"

Bleddyn shrugs his shoulders and says "<Sindarin> Probably not. At least for now. I have not finished the task set before me so must return to Fangorn."

Aldarwen stares at Bleddyn, amazed at his words, "Return? Why did you leave it if you were going to return?"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "I came back to report what I had found out so far."

Aldarwen nods, "Very faithful of you to do that... And now you'll go to Fangorn and come back here after your task is completely acomplished?"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "Accomplished or I need more supplies. One or the other."

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "Now that I feel safe sleeping in Fangorn, well at least in parts... I can stay longer there this time."

Aldarwen smiles, "I see..." She takes yet another look at Bleddyn's appearance and says, "You speak too good Sindarin not to be one of the human we trust".

Bleddyn chuckles and says "<Sindarin> I grew up knowing Thrnaduil's folk. My mother taught me Sindarin and told me I must know it well."

Aldarwen opens her eyes wide at the mention of Thranduil. "So, you lived near Mirkwood? I'm still amazed that they should teach our language to men of lesser origins"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "I lived *in* Mirkwood. Within the Eastern eaves before we were driven out by the Goblins. Leanring your language was important if we were to continue hunting Goiblins with His folk."

Aldarwen looks strange at you, "You lived IN Mirkwood? That's something incredible to me... I thought elves had more sense in what had to do with the caring of their forest. But the knowledge you have of our language is a very good proof that you are not lying..."

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "I am a woodsman and so am charged with watching the forest."

Aldarwen is still amazed at your words, "The elves of Mirkwood have men to watch their forests? Why may they be so busy that they could not watch the woods themselves?"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "Oh but they do. My people have lived within the eaves of Mirkwood for as long as we know. And that being so we have had much commerce and cooperation with Thrnaduil's folk."

Aldarwen says, "You have lived under the woods of Mirkwood, you have learned the elven language, and you have worked for Thranduil's folk... And still I see you as a man much different to the Dunedain, our friends"

Bleddyn shrugs his shoulders and says "<Sindarin> I know not the Dune.. Dunedain you say? I have lived all my life under and around the eaves of Mirkwood and have delt little with others except my relatives and Thranduil's folk."

The sun sinks in the sky and falls below the horizon. Nighttime takes over.

Aldarwen nods, "The Dunedain are men of higher blood. Strange that, having been taught in such a fluency of the elven language you have never heard of them" She thinks for some seconds and then says, "You have delt little with others than your relatives an Thrnaduil's folk? So, what has sent you down to the south, to the eaves of the beautiful Lothlorien?"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "His folk tell of when Mirkwood was called Greenwood the great. Parts of Fangorn reminded me of their tales and that one section of the Mirkwood of today. I have never seen woods as sick as I have seen some in these past few weeks. Even the woods of your own border. Eh? What brought me here? Long story that one but the short of it is that I was chased by goblins from the eaves of Mirkwood across the Anduin."

Aldarwen nods, "Yes, that is what I was told... So, you have had a look at the trees of our borders?"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "I look at all trees as I pass by them."

Aldarwen says, "But what did you just say about our border trees?"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "Some were not looking all that healthy to me."

Aldarwen nods, "I know that. I have been looking at them, too. But I know not the cause of their illness, is it the same as the trees of Fangorn you mentioned before?"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "That is hard to say. The trees in Fangorn were covered and those I saw on your borders had but little."

Aldarwen sighs, "But it could grow quickly if we don't find out what is causing it... "

Bleddyn rubs his chin and asks "<Sindarin> have any of your people seen the affliction in Fangorn?"

Aldarwen shakes her head, "Not yet."

Aldarwen says, "I thought your mission in Fangorn had to do with this"

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "No. I was told I was to look for goblins. And I found no evidence of them massing. Was I not told something?"

Aldarwen says, "I don't know, I'm not in charge of any foreign affairs, I had been working to find out what that terrible fungus may be and thought that you were admitted here to give some information."

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "That is strange. Many people have a number of different ideas as to why I am here but the short of it is that the Lady of your woods gave me permission to stay. Although that does not apply to your city and some other areas that i find out about as I mistakenly come across them."

Aldarwen nods, "The reasons of why The Lady has given you permission are not known to us, but we trust her wisdom." She raises her head to look at the early night sky for some seconds and then says, "Anyway, you will soon go to Fangorn again, you have just told me... I wonder..."

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "Yes?"

Aldarwen says, "If you could have another look at those trees you saw last time, to tell us if it's the same illness. I don't know if that will help. But it would be nice to have some more information."

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "I believe I could do that and be back within a week."

Aldarwen smiles, "Really? I would be thankful to you if you do that."

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "It will be easier than finding goblins and much safer." He smiles.

Aldarwen nods and then says warily, "But, please, be careful not to bring any new fungus to the forest. We don't still know if it's transmitted by contact or by air. We are still studying it."

Bleddyn nods and says "I will not touch it myself and will make sure to wash carefully before returning.

Aldarwen grins, satisfied with your attitude, "Alright, then, I think I won't bother you anymore with my questions and requests..."

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "Oh, it was not a bother."

Bleddyn says in Sindarin, "I will depart at the rising of the sun and will return as soon as I am able."

Aldarwen smiles wide and bows her head a bit, "Good bye, then, and fare you well. Thanks again, you are very polite for being just a man"

Bleddyn with a grin says "<Sindarin> And so are you for being just an Elf."

Aldarwen goes back some steps, still looking at you with a smile and then goes towards the Bridge.

Bleddyn:
You finally notice this non-descript person. He is wearing travellers clothes; dark brown trews, an unbleached linen shirt, a short, green jacket of wool and a dark brown cloak. On his feet he wears modestt, short boots without a heel. At his side is a sword and he carries a bow. His eyes are a bright green and his hair mousey brown, totally unkempt and cut short about the ears. He surveys everything with a wry smile and seems totally at ease. You do notice after a bit that he has a mended tear in his shirt and that every so often he seems to favor his left side.

Back

Aldarwen
You look upon a slender elf maiden, her eyes are dark green and if you look deep in them you can see the leaves of the trees of her childhood still quivering. She has long hair and the color is a bit greenish, like the grass in automn. She's smiling, but in her expression you may notice she's not completely happy.
She's wearing a long green dress, that shimmers with different shades of green as the light reflects on it. A thin silver belt tightens around her waist. On the left shoulder, there's a green symbol of a dove being released by two hands. She wears no necklace or rings of any kind.
