Terridan and Gillhach in the land of dreams - 2

Elven Dreams
This is the world of Elven Dreams. Other Elves appear to you here as their true selves, if you have the wisdom and heart to see in this place. Dreams and thoughts, yours and theirs, come to life here.

The mists of the dreams swirl around, concealing everything, yet nothing all at once. Images pass by, some terrifying, some peaceful. Through a path around them all, walks a figure, made of the purest light.

A great white cloud, devoid of darkness, in the middle of which walks a figure: An elven girl-child, whom men might account no more than ten years of age by her size. With piercing eyes one might look on her through that cloud, for about the child a dim light swirls; outlining a greater figure, that of a tall woman, transparent, true. And yet posessing of an almost tangible prescence, such as one might not expect from a child. Her elfin features are sharp and angular, accented by her wealth of coppery hair, and the emerald eyes that glisten 'neath her brow. In those eyes one can divine nought but innocense and love, a befits one so young; yet also, age and wisdom are held therein, and none of the fears that normally afflict a child.

Grey mists swirl, and parting they are dispelled; a great white cloud is revealed, like to the mists in texture, and yet devoid of darkness. Contained therein, a figure sits. That of a child, a maid, about whom is set a greater figure, as it were a full grown woman. Present, tangible, almost to be touched, yet translucent; the figure and the child share the same likeness.

Terridan looks over towards the figure slowly, then begins to walk towards her, eyeing the adult and child curiously. He kneels down next to them, and places a gentle hand on the child's shoulder, "Cousin..."

Starting at the touch, the girl cowers; kneeling then, or seemingly so, the woman comforts the child with a tight embrace, speaking words unheard unto her ears, smoothing her hair from her face. Blinking once, the child looks up at the figure before her, questions, "What is it?" Then speaks no more.

Terridan looks down to his cousin, his eyes soft, though a bit surprised at the reaction, "Cousin... what is wrong? You seemed troubled?"

"Troubled?" A frown creases the girl's brow, "No, not troubled... surprised perhaps." She explains, "I was... thinking."

Terridan nods his head slowly, "What about?"

Gillhach sighs, "Many things," she sighs, "Everything I suppose..." She holds her hand before her face, turning it, regarding it's form, "Here my thoughts are uncluttered, unfettered by pains of the body."

Terridan nods his head slowly, then smiles, "Then perhaps... I can give you some news that may bring you a bit less pain... and some hope as well... if you would permit me?"

Inclining her head to a nod, so the child stands. Looking to her cousin, she asks; "What news, Terridan? What is it that you would tell me?"

Terridan smiles softly, still kneeling to look at his cousin, "Your sister Talia... her armor has fallen from her body... no long does it burden her so greatly."

A smile curls the girl's lips, "Indeed?" Her smile widens to a grin, "That is well..." With a cry, she leaps into her cousin's arms and embraces him, "Aye.. soon she shall be freed."

Terridan embraces his small cousin tightly, then nods his head, "Indeed she shall, cousin... indeed she shall... but now, I am afraid I must depart... for I must regain my strength to help her further..." he smiles widely, and can't help but ruffle her hair a bit, "Take care."
